This is the blog portion of the TXCMA website, and it’s also where you’ll get updated news of smoking bans in Texas and what TXCMA is doing. Currently, the smoking ban in Conroe, Tx has been passed with an exemption for cigar shops. However, local bars and shops have banned together to overturn this ruling, and have successfully submitted a petition. We’ll keep you updated, and congratulations to the business owners in Conroe, who have been able to do what many business owners fail to do- present a unified front.

Did you know that Texas is one of only 13 states without a general smoking ban? The others are: Alabama, Alaska, Indiana, Kansas, Kentucky, Michigan, Mississippi, Missouri, Oklahoma, South Carolina, Texas, West Virginia, and Wyoming.

You will be receiving a TXCMA email soon with our stance on the FDA seeking consumer comments. Check your inbox! Have any of our members received a visit from the FDA regarding flavored cigarettes or cigars? If so, we’d like to hear about your experience! Leave a comment below.
